English (ESL) Language Courses – (10 weeks of English classes)*
This course provides the opportunity to learn how to read, write and speak English as second language for those who have very little to no knowledge of the English language.
From the Boston Harbor to Downtown Atlanta. From LA to the dairy fields of Wisconsin. The universe of the English language is vast, and we are proud to offer English as a Second Lesson classes from beginner to accent reduction for the extremely advanced. ESL is an essential tool for living and working in the many countries that use English as their first language (such as the US, Canada, England and Australia), as well as travel in many countries. English will help open many doors: both foreign and domestic.
The Atlanta International Language Institute is proud to be able to offer all ranges of lessons for students, including group classes and private sessions. Each class is tailored to meet the individuals’ needs as they continue with growing their ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
Courses include 10 consecutive weekly classes (barring major holidays). Classes meet once a week for 2 hours at our location, or online. The curriculum of our language program is built for groups of three to nine students who complete the material in ten weeks. We also offer more immersive classes that are seven weeks for two students, and five weeks for private lessons.
Practice using everything learned from English 101 and 102 on a daily basis
Learn how, when and why we use the continuous tenses in English.
Oral and written class exercises will focus on describing common activities in the past, present and future.
Students will learn how to express certainty and uncertainty properly.
By the end of this class, each individual should be able to hold a detailed conversation about themselves and family members. They should also be able to handle common everyday interactions such as purchasing an item, making an appointment, or asking and answering common questions.
In English 202, students are encouraged to speak directly with each other and people in and out of class. We work on perfecting sentence structure when using formal and informal language.
Focus is on making sure there is correct usage of prepositions and tenses.
Students will learn how to describe illness or medication. Conversations will focus on everyday conversations, describing medical conditions and history in order to go to a doctor or hospital.
This level focuses on business phrases and settings. You will learn how to offer suggestions and take directions.
Students will be able to feel comfortable going to a boss or a manager.
More specific vocabulary is made for the student, so they can express the steps they use in their daily business life, and can describe their job in detail.
Students will practice speaking using both formal and informal English.
