Our instructors have over a decade of experience, and take a thorough and structured approach to teaching this beautiful language.
*Courses include 10 consecutive weekly classes (barring major holidays). Classes meet once a week for 2 hours at our location, or online. The curriculum of our language program is built for groups of three to nine students who complete the material in ten weeks. We also offer more immersive classes that are seven weeks for two students, and five weeks for private lessons.
Grammar that is introduced will cover the alphabet, greetings, numbers, gender of nouns, adjectives and possessive pronouns. Focus on Stare, Essere, and Avere, regular and irregular verbs in the present tense.
Speaking will cover simple expressions and interactions; including Introducing yourself and basic expressions.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to communicate in basic circumstances with learned vocabulary.
Grammar in this class will cover the future tense, double object pronouns, the imperfect tense, the pluperfect tense, comparisons, and conditional tenses.
Speaking will cover holding conversations in a wide variety of circumstances, such as: travel, dining out, and family conversations.
Students will be able to develop applicable writing skills: Learn to fill out customs forms and basic written communication in Italian.
Grammar at this level will cover the subjunctive tenses and their uses, the passive form, and the historical past.
Speaking will cover holding conversations in a wider variety of circumstances, such as: discussing preferences, and holding formal and informal basic conversations.
Students will be able to write and discuss current events and favorite shows.
Students will have daily speaking activities in Italian.
This level covers uses of grammar in longer dialogues, and students will review: present, present perfect, future, imperative, adverbs, and the imperfect. Idiomatic phrases correlated with the dialogues will also be practiced.
Speaking will cover holding conversations in a wide variety of circumstances, building off what was learned previously and growing vocabulary.
Students will have daily speaking activities in Italian.
This lesson focuses on the uses of grammar in longer dialogues, and students will review: gerunds, conditional tenses, pluperfect, subjunctive tenses, and the uses of subjunctive. Idiomatic uses correlated with the dialogues are also explored.
Speaking will cover holding conversations in a wide variety of circumstances, including using the formal and informal in spoken situations.
Students will have daily speaking activities in Italian.
This level will focus on the uses of grammar in longer dialogues, and students will review: gerunds, conditional tenses, pluperfect, subjunctive tenses, uses of subjunctive. Idiomatic uses correlated with the dialogues are also built upon.
Speaking will cover holding conversations in a wide variety of circumstances. Using the formal and informal will also be the focus, and will be in practice.
Students will have daily speaking activities, and homework includes written exercises (personal and professional writing).
